Our Journey
It all began with a simple desire: provide healthy food to our family, empower our children, and reduce our negative impact on the planet. A few years ago, nestled in the Riverstone neighborhood of Alamo Ranch, our family embarked on a journey towards a sustainable lifestyle. What started as a small raised garden bed in our backyard, then one Tower Garden on the patio blossomed into a thriving urban micro-farm overflowing with fresh produce.
The Family
Together, with our children by our side, we're building a community that values healthy living and environmental responsibility. Driven by Wendy's creative spirit and Xavior's passion for sustainable living, Allpa Mama is a family affair. Wendy, our resident plant parent and artist, ensures every sprout thrives under her care. Xavior, with his background in design thinking and entrepreneurship, focuses on the "why" behind food production, combating issues like food insecurity and the miseduction of children.
The Farm
Allpa Mama, named after the Incan fertility goddess, is a haven for sustainable agriculture. We cultivate a vibrant tapestry of fruits, vegetables, and legumes using innovative methods like hydroponic Tower Gardens, raised beds, no-spray, and no-till chemical-free techniques. We believe in nurturing the earth as it nourishes us – using heirloom, non-GMO seeds, and saving varieties each season to adapt to our local climate and agricultural practices.

We are Bexar County's only family-owned micro aeroponic farm. By serving our community, we reduce food miles and harvest within hours of delivering, which enables bolder flavor and local distribution at scale all year.

Our farm embodies a closed-loop design and maximizes output using minimal resources, allowing us to grow with up to 98% less water, up to 99% less land, zero harmful chemicals, and a fraction of the climate impact compared to traditional farming.

How do you feel when you go to the market or your supplier, and they do not have your favorite produce? Innovative technology monitors the farm 24 hours a day, auto-adjusting and alerting us when something is wrong. Our unique approach to CEA means that we grow all year regardless of climate and weather conditions outside.

Indoor vertical farming allows us to grow fresh, clean, sustainable, and affordable produce for our community with zero food safety issues. No washing is needed, and our leafy greens and herbs stay fresh longer.
The Opportunity
The current farming system, while feeding billions, strains our planet and fails to deliver nutrient dense food our bodies require. Studies suggest that monoculture and chemical fertilizers are rapidly depleting vital nutrients from soil, rendering land unusable in the coming years. This, coupled with rising water demands, paints a concerning picture. Fortunately, solutions exist, like our micro-farm, which has the potential to grow over 2,000 vegetables in under 340 square feet. By minimizing land use and water requirements while maximizing nutrient content, innovative solutions like our farm will help us nourish ourselves and the planet simultaneously. Together, we can cultivate a more sustainable future, seed by seed, drop by drop, and plate by plate.
More than just a Farm
Allpa Mama is doing more than growing our food; we are fostering a healthier community. We open our farm doors on Sundays (April-December) for educational workshops, community harvests, and wellness events, like Yoga and mental health discussions. In addition, the team designs, builds and installs kitchen garden, offers gardening education, shows you how to prepare your harvest, and even Juice+ subscriptions – everything you need to cultivate a life of vitality.
